Lexus RX Makes India Debut at Auto Expo 2023 – Prepare for Launch This March
Delhi : Lexus introduced the RX SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. It will come in two specs model: RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance. The next RX SUV is now accepting reservations, and it will debut before the end of March 2023. The RX is a significant volume seller for Lexus in India, and as of right now, it won't give rise to a three-row variant.
Powertrains for new Lexus RX
The 2.5-liter turbo-charged petrol engine and CVT transmission that power the RX 350h Luxury provide 247 horsepower when combined with the powerful hybrid system. It has an option of two drivetrains, a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive, with the former claiming to be able to go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 8.1 seconds and the latter in 7.9 seconds, respectively.
The more powerful RX 500h F Sport Performance comes with a 2.4-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 6-speed automated transmission. It has a robust hybrid system that can produce 366 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 6.2 seconds and has an all-wheel drive system as standard (claimed). In its new RX SUV, Lexus used a high-power bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery.
Exterior and dimensions of the new Lexus RX
The redesigned RX mimics the "spindle body" appearance of the new RZ electric SUV and follows Lexus' Alluring X Verve design language. Additionally, the F-Sport body kit for the RX 500h has some cosmetic variations from the basic model. While the bumper on the ordinary model has chrome details, the F-Sport has piano black accents. On the F-Sport version, even the entire bumper receives full-body colour treatment. It also receives an F-Sport symbol on the front fenders, which is more significant.
The multimedia system in the RX also features a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless charging and Apple CarPlay, although it only supports tethered Android Auto. Black, Dark Sepia, and Solis White are the three interior colour options offered by Lexus. Sumi Woodgrain and Medium Bamboo Brown are the two trim options. Additionally, the RX receives a panoramic sunroof.
