Delhi : The iX1 electric SUV, BMW's fourth EV, will arrive in India later this month. The automaker has teased the iX1 in advance of its September 28 introduction. The third generation of BMW's entry-level X1 SUV serves as the foundation for the iX1 electric SUV. The iX, the only other electric SUV BMW provides in India, will be placed above it. The iX1 electric SUV will compete in the premium EV sector against rivals like the Volvo C40 Recharge and Kia EV6, among others, and is anticipated to cost less than 70 lakhs.

In India, BMW is anticipated to introduce the iX1 electric SUV in the xDrive30 configuration. It will have two electric motors, allowing the electric SUV to produce up to 494 Nm of peak torque and 313 horsepower of maximum power. The iX1's electric motors will provide power to each of its four wheels. It has a peak speed of 180 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds.

A lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 64.7 kWh will power the BMW iX1 electric SUV. On a single charge, it may provide an electric range of up to 438 kilometers. A 11 kW 3-phase on-board charger will likely be available for the electric SUV. Additionally, the iX1 will offer rapid charging with a maximum capacity of 130 kW, allowing the SUV to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Comparable to its ICE counterpart, the BMW iX1 electric SUV has a similar appearance. The front face, which has a closed grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern, is the sole significant change. The electric SUV's boot holds 490 liters, which is around 50 liters less than the X1 facelift SUV. The iX1's interior is likewise luxurious. A 10.7-inch curved touch screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster make up the majority of the dashboard. Along with other features, it offers wireless charging and voice control.
