Delhi : Mahindra has decided to end the production of its flagship SUV Alturas G4 in India. The company's website no longer lists the full-size SUV. Mahindra & Mahindra has also stopped taking orders for the SUV in the nation. For those who don't know, the Mahindra Alturas G4 was the brand's most costly SUV. It was created in cooperation with the Korean carmaker SsangYong. Mahindra XUV 700 will be replacing the Alturas G4 completely.

"We appreciate your interest in the Alturas. Due to market conditions, the sale of Alturas has been postponed until further notice. Please have a look at some of our other fascinating SUV models while you wait, mentioned the official Mahindra Alturas G4 website.

Recently, Mahindra revealed the top-of-the-line RWD variants of the SUV. At Rs 30,86 lakh, it competed with vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Volkswagen Taigun.

The 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that powers the Mahindra Alturas G4 is said to have a maximum output of 181 horsepower and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. The engine was connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission made by Mercedes. The SUV was available in two models: AWD and RWD.

A totally knocked-down kit was used to build the Alturas G4 in India. The SUV's features include an electric sunroof, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ventilated seats, and HID headlights with LED daytime running lights. A touchscreen media centre with an 8-inch display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is available in the SUV. Nine airbags and a parking assistance system with a 360-degree camera are security features.

The business just said that it sold 58,303 automobiles in total for the month of November 2022. In the utility vehicle market, the automaker sold 30,238 cars in November of this year. In the Passenger Cars sector (which comprises UVs, Cars, and Vans) last month, 30,392 vehicles were sold.
