MG to launch Tata Tiago EV rival in 2023, driving range over 300km per charge
New Delhi : The EV car trend is on a boom in India and all the car-manufacturers are looking forward to make the most out of the situation. MG Motors India will be launching their fourth car in the market which will be an entry-level segment electric car with a driving range of over 300 kms per charge.
The company has announced that they will be launching the new car in 2023 with a price tag under 10 lakhs, this will make it a direct competitor of newly launched Tata Motors hatchback Tata Tiago EV. The latter has been priced from Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh.
MG Motors entry level electric car will be based on Wuling Air EV, which is already available in the global market in two variants - Standard Wheelbase (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB).
The car comes in both two seater and four seater layout.
According to media reports, the engineering and tech team of MG Motors is now working on its battery thermal management to make the car according to Indian driving condition.
The China-spec Wuling Air EV has been offered with two electric motor options – 30kW (40bhp) and 50kW (67bhp), offering range up to 200km and 300km respectively.
