Sushmita Sen to play transgender in upcoming web series

New Delhi : Actress Sushmita Sen is taking up projects which are mostly released on OTTs, be it Aarya, its sequel or her upcoming movie, she has been delivering some tremendous web series. The actress has now announced her upcoming project in which she will be seen playing a character of a transgender activist and the trustee of the Sai Savli Foundation Trust.

She will play the lead role in the movie titled Taali. In the first look shared on Instagram, she revealed her lead character based on Shreegauri Sawant.

Sharing the first look with fans on Instagram, she wrote, "Nothing makes me prouder & more grateful than to have the privilege of portraying this beautiful person & of bringing her story to the world!!"

In the picture, she can be seen wearing a green sari paired with a red blouse. She is also posing as playing a clap, which in Hindi is called Taali.

Taali has been written by Kshitij Patwardhan and directed by Ravi Jadhav. It is being produced by Kartk D Nishandar, Arjun Singgh Baran and Afeefa Nadiadwala Sayed. It will premiere on Voot Select.

The makers have not announced the release date of the movie yet.
