Over 30,000 bookings for Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Fronx combined
Delhi : The five-door Jimny and the Fronx were launched by Maruti Suzuki India on January 12 at the Auto Expo 2023, and reservations for the two sport utility vehicles (SUVs) opened on the same day. According to recent information provided to India Today by a senior corporate official, the Jimny and the Fronx have combined for over 30,000 reservations.
Jimny and Fronx will both be offered for sale at Maruti's Nexa retail locations. While Jimny has more than 20,000 orders, Fronx has gotten more than 10,000 orders up to this point. Late March or early April are anticipated for the two SUVs' price announcement and client delivery.
About the Jimny, it has a ladder frame chassis and a K15B 1.5-liter petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission options (105PS/134Nm). The SUV comes fitted with ALLGRIP PRO 4WD and low-range transfer gear (4L mode).
The Jimny includes equipment including brake limited slip differential, ESP with hill hold help, hill descent control, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, a 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, cruise control, and six airbags.
Both the K12N 1.2-liter gasoline engine (90 PS/113 Nm) and the K10C 1.0-liter gasoline turbo boosterjet engine (100 PS/148 Nm) are available for the Fronx. The 5-speed MT or 5-speed AMT can be used with the K12N unit, whereas the 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT can be used with the K10C unit.
The Fronx comes equipped with LED headlights and taillights, a 9-inch HD Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, an Arkamys surround sound system, automatic climate control, a head-up display with turn-by-turn navigation, a 360-degree view camera, a wireless charger, and six airbags, among other noteworthy features.
The Fronx offers five variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha, compared to the Jimny's Zeta and Alpha options.
In terms of pricing, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny could cost between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Maruti Suzuki Fronx could cost between Rs 6.50 lakh and Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
