Delhi : Since accepting reservations for a token money of Rs 1 lakh in December, the recently released Hyundai Ioniq 5 has received 650 orders. Beginning at the end of March, the premium electric vehicle (EV) will start to be delivered.

Booking and price of Hyundai Ioniq 5

At the Auto Expo 2023, Hyundai Motor India released the Ioniq 5's pricing. The first 500 bookings were the only ones that qualified for the introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai plans to launch six battery electric cars (BEVs) in India by 2028 with an expenditure of Rs 4,000 crore. The Ioniq 5 is the first of these vehicles and is being domestically made. Additionally, the Ioniq 5 is the first product to be built on the electric-global modular platform developed by Hyundai Motor Group (E-GMP).

Inside features of Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has 20-inch alloy wheels with parametric design, parametric pixel LED headlights, and LED taillamps with distinctive pixel design. Its interior is packed with innovations, including sliding glove box, magnetic dashboard, sliding centre console with 140mm of travel, and eco-processed seat fabric. A 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment display are also present. Level 2 ADAS, with 21 functions, is furthermore available.

The Ioniq 5 has a 4,635mm length, 1,890mm width, 1,625mm height, and a 3,000mm wheelbase. It has a 72.6kWh battery pack connected to a rear-mounted electric motor that has a maximum output of 217bhp and 350Nm of torque. For the Ioniq 5, Hyundai claims an ARAI-certified range of 631 kilometres.

The Ioniq 5 battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes using a 350kW DC quick charger. Additionally, the EV supports V2L (vehicle to load), which enables the use of the battery to run other electrical devices.

Hyundai Ioniq 5's rivals

The Kia EV6 and the Volvo XC40 Recharge are two cars that compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is locally constructed, in contrast to the Kia EV6, which is imported into India in completely built-up (CBU) form.
