Renault Duster global debut alert: New Renault Duster with 170hp engine on November 29

Delhi : On November 29 in Portugal, the sister brand of Renault, Dacia is expected to unveil the all-new Duster SUV, according to our sources. New Duster will debut in India by 2025 and would bear the Renault badge in nations like that.

There are three engine options for the new Renault Duster.

Up to three petrol engine options will be available for the 2017 Duster: a 120 horsepower, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol entry-level engine; a 140 horsepower, 1.2-liter petrol hybrid engine; and a 170 horsepower, 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine that is compatible with flex fuel in the highest versions. It will be the most powerful Duster ever put into production, with 170 horsepower.

New Renault Duster to get rugged, boxy looks

As seen from the spy shots, the new Duster will have boxy looks – a departure from the second-gen SUV it replaces – that gives it a rugged, off-roader appeal. It will, however, sit on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-B modular platform. Dacia’s new, sleeker fascia, which was rolled out across the range as part of mini facelifts last year, also makes an appearance. The Renault-branded SUV, however, will have some design differences.

Three-row Duster likely to be called Bigster

The new Duster will also get a three-row sibling that will be called the Bigster SUV, according to sources, which will see a global debut sometime next year.

Details about Next-Gen Duster's debut in India

The five-seater Duster, which is expected to arrive in India by 2025, is a strong competitor in the rapidly expanding midsize SUV market, which is also home to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
