New Delhi : Renault India on Wednesday announced that their new sub-compact upcoming SUV Kiger will be launched in India on February 15 this year. Recently, it was reported that the production of the car will commence at the Chennai facility.

The car has been dispatched to more than 500 dealerships across the nation to allow people to have a look at their upcoming car.

Like Kwid and Triber, Kiger will be produced in India and will be exported from here to the world. The deliveries of the car will commence from March onwards. The upcoming car has been made on the CMF-A+ platform.

The concept version of the car was showcased by the company last year and it has been informed that 80 per cent of the concept has been retained in the final version of the production unit.

Under the hood, the car has been fitted with an engine that is already been provided in Magnite. Renault has confirmed 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 98 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque. There will also be the 1.0-litre three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol available with 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque.

The car will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, also AMT and CVT automatic versions.
