Delhi : This holiday season, car sales surpassed one million units sold. During this time, sales of secondhand cars also increased significantly. Some major websites released data showing an 88% rise in used car sales nationwide in comparison to the previous year. During the holiday season, cars valued at Rs 1,760 crore were sold on car selling and buying websites platform, with Delhi leading the metro pack. The largest number of persons selling their automobiles from urban marketplaces was in Lucknow, which was followed by Pune and Ahmedabad. On the car selling and buying websites platform, the most affordable vehicles available were a Maruti 800 and Zen, while a Mercedes-Benz E Class represented the upper end of the price range.

When it came to used vehicle purchasers' preferred body styles, SUVs came in second. Demand was particularly strong for the Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Ertiga, Creta, and Nexon models. The Ford Endeavour was the costliest vehicle purchased this season. The most favored color among automobile purchasers was silver. During this Christmas season, Bangalore had the most automobile sales. Car sales in Kochi surged over the previous year during Onam. Ganesh Chaturthi saw a threefold surge in auto sales in Mumbai and Pune, with the WagonR and Honda City topping the way. Especially for the Grand i10 and Baleno, automobile sales in Ahmedabad and Delhi increased by 67% during Navratri.

During the holiday season, loans of Rs 4.7 crore were given per day on average, with young paid professionals under 35 years old making up the majority of the applications. Data shows that every ten minutes a used vehicle loan is disbursed, having handled over 500 loan applications every day. Maruti and Hyundai were the automobile brands most often financed, with the Hyundai Grand i10 receiving the largest number of loans.

87% of Indians chose petrol-powered automobiles, according to the data. This could be because gasoline cars have a 15-year roadside maintenance life and have cheaper initial and ongoing expenditures. Half of all sales were made up of hatchbacks. First-time automobile purchasers were fond of models like the Swift, Baleno, Grand i10, Alto, and Kwid, with Maruti Suzuki being the brand of choice.
