Tata's latest EV: Nexon Facelift hits the market with improved performance

Delhi : One of the most popular electric SUVs on the market in the nation is the Tata Nexon EV. The model has garnered a resoundingly positive response from the public since its premiere in 2020, propelling it to the top of the sales chart for electric vehicles. But it needed a significant overhaul in terms of the design, functionality, technology, and driving range. Here are all the details you need to know about the 2023 Nexon EV facelift, which was finally born from Tata Motors.

Variations and colour choices

Six varieties of the most recent Tata Nexon EV are available, including Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+ S, Empowered, and Empowered+. These variants are available with either a Medium Range (MR) or Long Range (LR) battery pack. Customers can select the electric SUV's exterior paint color from seven options. This comprises Intensi-teal, Flame Red, Pristine White, Empowered Oxide, Daytona Grey, and Fearless Purple.

Range, power source, and charge time

The 30kWh and 40.5kWh battery packs that power the electric motor to produce 127bhp and 143bhp, respectively, are what propel the Nexon EV facelift. The peak speed has improved from 130kmph to 150kmph despite the torque being reduced from 250Nm to 215Nm. The Nexon EV now boasts a better claimed range thanks to all these changes. The LR, on the other hand, has a range of up to 465km on a single, completely charged battery, compared to the MR's stated range of up to 325km. Both variants now include a 7.2kW AC charger that allows the EV to charge from 10% to 100% in under six hours.

Style and design

Tata Motors has entirely revamped the appearance of its most well-liked electric SUV with this facelift. A blanked-out front grille, an LED light strip running the length of the bonnet with a welcome feature, and a charging indicator that shows the battery level are all added to the front fascia. Now, the corners of the newly created front bumpers house the LED headlamps. The electric SUV has a new back bumper, linking LED taillamps, a roof-top antenna, a protruding rear spoiler that tucks the inverted wiper under it, and the 'Nexon.EV' branding on the tailgate. Alloy 16-inch wheels support the vehicle.

Tata has significantly modified the interior of the new Nexon EV in addition to the exterior. It now has a cream and black interior theme, giving it a more upscale feel. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a JBL sound system is located directly in the middle of the dashboard. In addition, the center console has an electronic parking brake, a JLR-style gear lever with a rotary dial for drive modes, and a wireless charging pad that is mounted vertically. It also includes a single-pane sunroof, two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, height-adjustable ventilated front seats, and OTA updates.

Features and safety

When compared to the previous model, the facelifted Tata Nexon EV now comes with a few more safety measures. It has a button for emergency assistance, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, disc brakes throughout, and an auto-hold feature. In addition, it has electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent control, and a blind spot monitor.
