Delhi : The redesigned S 1000 XR has been introduced by BMW to the global market. Here is a summary of the technical and visual changes made to the bike for 2024.

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR has undergone some slight design adjustments. The front beak seems larger and is now a single unit rather than the two-piece design of its predecessor. It also appears that the radiator covers and side panels are different. The S 1000 XR maintains its towering posture while having an even more aggressive overall appearance.

It has a liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder, 999cc engine with redesigned intake channels. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox and produces 170 horsepower and 114 Nm. As of right now, the S 1000 XR has 5 horsepower more than the previous model. An adaptive headlamp, riding modes Pro, ABS Pro, hill start control Pro, and traction control are among the rider aids available. Moreover, it has a 6.5-inch TFT with USB charging port, keyless entry, smartphone connectivity, and an emergency call feature.

A monoshock and 45mm electrically adjustable USD front forks are fitted on the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR. Its dual-channel ABS front and rear 320mm dual disc brake systems and single 265mm rear disc comprise its braking gear. These are installed on 17-inch wheels with tires measuring 120/70 on the front and 190/55 on the back.

The redesigned BMW S 1000 XR is priced at USD 20,345 (about Rs. 16.97 lakh, tax-free) in the US. We anticipate its debut in India as well, albeit the cost may be somewhat higher there. For comparison, the ex-showroom price of the 2023 model in Delhi is Rs. 22.10 lakh.
