New Delhi : In a major setback for Team India, skipper Rohit Sharma is likely to miss the crucial ODI match in ICC World Cup 2023 against England on Sunday. According to reports, Rohit Sharma has picked up a wrist injury during the training session.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been setting the game for India so far, with Rohit's absence it will be a task for the team to regenerate a balance to take the game to their side.

On the other hand, there are unconfirmed reports which claim that Hardik Pandya will be making a comeback in the game. KL Rahul is expected to open the game with Shubman Gill in the absence of Rohit Sharma.

During the pre-match press conference, the right-handed batsman Rahul acknowledged the significance of Hardik as a key team member, expressing regret about his absence in the match against England. Rahul also expressed confidence in Suryakumar Yadav's ability to perform in ODIs in Hardik's absence. The all-rounder will be sidelined for the upcoming match against England due to an ankle injury sustained during the game against Bangladesh in Pune.

INDIA vs ENGLAND match

Team India will be playing against England today in Lucknow at Ekana Sport City. The Indian side has been the only side which is unbeaten so far in the ICC World Cup 2023. They would try to continue their winning history with or without Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, England, which is on the bottom of the points table, would be looking for a motivational win.
