Delhi : Carmakers have expressed a strong desire to introduce new models in 2023. We've already had several launches this year, and we're only seven months into it. We have two confirmed launches in August 2023, along with another Mahindra event. Four more launches are also on the way. Stay tuned if you're seeking for a new CNG car, a 7-seater MPV, a premium electric SUV, a premium SUV, or new Creta/Alcazar versions.

Here are all the automobile launches scheduled for August 2023:

Mercedes-Benz GLC - August 9th

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 2023 will go on sale on August 9. Mercedes will offer two models: the GLC 300 (petrol) and the GLC 220d with all-wheel drive as standard. Both engines have a two-litre displacement and a 48V mild-hybrid technology.

The new GLC, which is larger than the previous model, is more of an evolution with a clean design than a fully new vehicle. The interior of the new GLC will be influenced by the S Class, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen for infotainment. More information on the new GLC can be found in our reveal story.

Audi Q8 e-tron / e-tron sportback - 18 August

Audi is introducing the Q8 e-tron in India as electric vehicles gain popularity. It is simply a renamed version of the e-tron SUV. The Q8 e-tron will be available in both SUV and Sportback body types, like before.

Audi offers two battery sizes for its electric SUV. The Q8 e-tron 55 comes with a 95kWh battery, 339PS, and 664Nm. The SUV's claimed battery range is 491km, while the Sportback's is 505km. The 55 model, on the other hand, has a 114kWh battery with 408PS and 664Nm. The SUV and Sportback have ranges of 582km and 600km, respectively.

Tata Punch CNG - When Can We Expect It?

Tata wants a slice of the growing market for CNG automobiles. Tata debuted its "twin cylinder" technology with the Altroz iCNG and plans to do so with the Punch soon. Because of its revolutionary cylinder configuration, the Punch CNG will have a more practical boot space than competitors. Tata might also use the debut of the CNG powerplant to promote new features such as a sunroof.

With this vehicle, Tata will provide a 1.2-litre triple-cylinder NA petrol engine. In petrol mode, it produces 84.8PS/113Nm while in CNG mode, it produces 76PS/97Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission is paired with this engine. The Tata Punch CNG made its debut at the 2023 Auto Show.

Citroen C3 Aircross - On the Way

Citroen's fourth model is projected to be the C3 Aircross, a compact SUV with 5- and 7-seat configurations. To make additional boot room, the last row of seats will be detachable. The third product based on the C-Cubed technology is the C3 Aircross. It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces 110PS and 190Nm in the C3. Citroen could retune this for additional power in the C3 Aircross. A 6-speed manual transmission is expected at launch, with an automated transmission option available later.

Toyota Rumion - To Be Released

Toyota now sells the Rumion MPV in South Africa. This is simply an Ertiga with altered design and all-black interiors. The Rumion's 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 101.5PS and 137Nm. The engine should be combined with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra Event in South Africa on August 15th

Mahindra has teased a new pick-up truck idea that will almost certainly be based on the upcoming Scorpio N. The event is scheduled for August 15 in South Africa. While the pick-up/lifestyle market is still in its infancy in India, it is huge in South Africa and even Australia/New Zealand.

Mahindra already offers the Scorpio Getaway in the aforementioned markets under the Goa/Pik-Up names. However, the corporation may consider releasing a newer version to provide existing consumers with an upgrade path as well as a greater selection. More information is awaited, as the Indian automaker produced a teaser video dubbed "Global Pik Up Vision." It had a sunroof, vertical tail lamps, and huge tyres.

Creta/Alcazar Adventure Editions - On the way

Hyundai is getting ready to release Adventure Editions of its popular Creta and Alcazar SUVs. These are believed to be merely aesthetic upgrades to the regular models. The Korean automaker may offer a new Ranger Khaki color option on both, as well as all-black bumper moldings, window garnishes, and roof rails. The interior may be outfitted with a black motif, extra stitching, and Adventure Edition badges and insignia on the headrests.

There will be no mechanical changes, and the Adventure Edition may be available in various forms. The Mercedes and Audi are confirmed launches, while the Tata, Citroen, and Toyota products might arrive at any time. Interestingly, the Mahindra presentation may unveil more about the truck, while the Hyundai twins' Adventure Editions are expected to provide customers with more options.
