Delhi : River EV, a Bengaluru-based start-up for electric two-wheelers, waited to create buzz until it felt the time was right, you probably haven't heard of it. The independent electric scooter you see here was the first product produced by River, which was founded in early 2021 by two former Ultraviolette employees. The new River Indie electric scooter was developed completely at the business' R&D department in Bengaluru, India, and will be manufactured there as well. Every year, the company wants to be able to produce 100,000 units.

The Indie, with a price of Rs. 1.25 lakh, ex-showroom Bengaluru, also includes a home charger and the Fame 2 subsidy. That is a very appealing price that puts it in the same ballpark as the TVS iQube S while being substantially less expensive than cars like the Ather 450X or the Ola S1 Pro. Additionally, the company plans to offer a battery warranty for five years or 50,000 miles.
The three colors—Summer Red, Monsoon Blue, and Spring Yellow—that make up the electric scooter's palette give it a distinctive look. Another function of the Indie is a set of pre-attached metal bars referred to as "Safeguards" that can protect the body panels from harm in the event of a fall.

The Indie's rear wheels are propelled by an electric motor that is belt-driven and positioned in the center of the car. The least powerful of the three riding modes, Eco, has a maximum speed of 90 kph and a real-world range of around 120 kilometers, according to the manufacturer. The motor is capable of producing 6.7 kW/26 Nm at its highest capacity.
In terms of utility features, the new River Indie EV also has a sizable 43-liter under-seat storage area, a 12-liter glove box, pannier attachments on both sides, and a bag hook. The Indie is a special scooter that comes with unique pannier-stays that can be customized in a variety of ways.
