Delhi : Tamil Nadu government and Ola Electric have agreed to establish an EV hub in the state that would have sophisticated cell and electric car manufacturing facilities, vendor and supplier parks, and an auxiliary ecosystem for EVs all in one place.

Ola confirmed that, the forthcoming EV hub in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts would be the largest EV facility ever built in a single site, covering almost 2,000 acres. Ola Electric would invest roughly Rs 7,600 crore ($918 million) to establish the EV hub in Tamil Nadu, according to ET, who spoke with a government official on the subject. This will enable the company's brand extend its production capabilities across electric 2Ws, 4Ws, and battery cells.

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, told that, "We are on the right road to becoming a worldwide centre for EVs. At Ola, we want to localise every important link in the EV value chain. With Ola's EV Hub, the complete EV ecosystem would be housed under one roof, making our vertically integrated mobility firm considerably stronger across 2Ws, 4Ws, and cells."

The S1 electric scooter, which is available in three distinct varieties, S1 Air (new), S1, and S1 Pro, is the sole item that Ola Electric presently sells in the Indian market. Yet, the corporation asserts that it is developing a variety of goods for the market, such as electric automobiles and motorbikes.
