Delhi : Picture-in-Picture video calls, which were previously accessible for Android smartphones, are now available on iOS thanks to WhatsApp. Users will be able to access the home screen or any other app while still viewing the footage of a video call thanks to the functionality. So, PiP mode will allow iOS WhatsApp users to utilise other programmes while participating in a video session. Android devices were the first to provide the capability. The most current update, version 23.3.77, of WhatsApp for iOS is now available from the App Store.

According to the description for the update, you may now multitask during a WhatsApp conversation without your video halting thanks to support for iOS Picture in Picture (PiP). As your video stream won't be interrupted, you may use a video discussion to check your emails, surf the web, and scroll through your Instagram feed.

The Picture in Picture option was first introduced by Apple in iOS 14 in 2020, but Android's version wasn't made accessible until 2017 with the release of Android 8.0 Oreo. Similar to how Apple took almost three years to provide the PiP option for movies, third-party applications are taking their time to adopt the iOS capabilities. While YouTube released PiP mode for its iOS app roughly two years after the capability was first launched, WhatsApp took nearly three years longer.

WhatsApp has also unveiled a number of brand-new features in the recent weeks. Up to 100 photographs or videos may be shared at once, captions can be added to photos, high-quality images and videos can be sent, avatars can be created and sent to contacts, and profile pictures can be used with them. Also, WhatsApp Business, a programme for enterprises, will have its features expanded by the firm, which is owned by Meta. According to a source, WhatsApp may be attempting to include the Communities function into the WhatsApp Business programme.
