Delhi : Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter and a multibillionaire, has begun following Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Monday, PM Modi's name appeared in a screenshot of a list of 195 individuals he follows, and the screenshot quickly gained popularity on the microblogging network. With 134.3 million followers, Mr. Musk has the most Twitter followers.

After surpassing former US President Barack Obama in late March, he accomplished the objective. PM Modi is one of the most followed leaders on Twitter with 87.7 million followers.

A Twitter account called "Elon Alerts," which keeps track on the Tesla CEO's account activity, also shared the news of Mr. Musk's follower update.

Twitter users are debating the development, with some suggesting it's an indication that Tesla will soon enter India.

"What led Elon Musk to support Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Can we anticipate a plant there? Let's see," one user who responded to the news remarked. Unsurprised, a different user said. Some people said that PM Modi was making attempts to improve India.

"Elon Musk, thank you. Elon Musk is working to make the world rational, war-free, and to provide a good society and a brighter future for the children of today, much as our PM Modiji is doing to make our country better, prosperous, progressive, and enhance people's lives. Best wishes to you both!" one of them exclaimed.

Guinness World Records said that there are around 450 million active users on Twitter each month. Mr. Musk has a sizable following and around 30% of all Twitter users follow him.

Late in October of last year, Elon Musk assumed control of Twitter. He had roughly 110 million users at that time. There are now 133 million people, an increase of five months. He comes in third place among Twitter users behind Justin Bieber and Barack Obama.
