New Delhi : In a bid to give more sense of security to the female passengers, IndiGo has introduced a new service where they can see which seats have been booked by other female passengers onboard.

The feature will show all female passengers marked via Passenger Name Records (PNR), either traveling solo or in group.

The airline said in a statement, "IndiGo is proud to announce the introduction of a new feature that aims to make the travel experience more comfortable for our female passengers. This has been introduced basis market research, and is currently in pilot mode aligning with our #GirlPower ethos."

"We are committed to providing an unparalleled travel experience for all our passengers, and this new feature is just one of the many steps we are taking towards achieving that goal," IndiGo added.

Recently, the company has announced that they will be adding new business class seats to offer more options to the passengers. The details about tailor made business class seats will be made available at around August, when the airlines will mark its 18th anniversary.

Interestingly, this comes within months of announcement that they will be purchasing more wide-body aircrafts in coming days. Notably, the airline only has economy class. It has a fleet of more than 360 aircraft and operates around 2,000 flights daily.
