Rahul Bajaj, former chairman of Bajaj Auto, passes away at 83

New Delhi : Industrialist and head of Bajaj auto company, Rahul Bajaj, passed away on Saturday. He was 83 years old.

He was suffering from heart problems and was recently diagnosed with pneumonia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death and gave his condolence to the family.

Shri Rahul Bajaj Ji will be remembered for his noteworthy contributions to the world of commerce and industry. Beyond business, he was passionate about community service and was a great conversationalist. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.

President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind said that with his demise a void in the industry has been created.

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said we have lost a far sighted and outspoken business leader.

Rahul Bajaj was the one who put average Indians on two motorised wheels.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called it a big loss for India.

Rahul Gandhi had joined Bajaj Auto group in 1965, he was later made CEO of the company in 1968. In 2005, his son Rajiv Bajaj tookover the company from him.

In April 2021, Bajaj stepped down as non-executive chairman of Bajaj Auto.
