Sudha Murty prefers to carry her own spoon on trips, her way of being a pure vegetarian triggers netizens

New Delhi : In India, people come with different food choices; some prefer to stay pure vegetarian, a bunch calls them eggetarian and the remaining ones are non vegetarian. Sudha Murty falls in the category of people who prefer pure vegetarian food in her meals. Recently, she explained how she ensures that no non veg reaches her pallet and her remarks have triggered mixed reactions among the netizens.

The Infosys Foundation chairperson, Smt. Sudha Murty, in an online interview said, "I prefer to carry my own spoon while stepping outside to ensure that she is not eating from something that has touched the non  vegetarian food."

Sudha Murty revealed that she is adventurous in her work but not in her food. As a pure vegetarian, she avoids eating eggs and garlic. Her main concern is the potential of cross-contamination between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food if the same spoon is used. To address this, she prefers searching for vegetarian restaurants when dining out or carrying a bag filled with ready-to-eat vegetarian items like poha that only require heating in water.

As soon as the video was posted online, a strong mixed reaction was seen by the netizens as some supported her choice of carrying the spoon, and some criticized her for doing so.

A twitter user wrote in his comment, "Sudha Murty is talking about carrying her own spoon to stay vegetarian but the lady is wearing silk saree."

Meanwhile, another user supported her and said that like everyone she can chose her preferences. She has not asked anyone to follow her or change the food preferences.
