How to check EPFO balance online? Three easy steps here

New Delhi : All salaried people know well about Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), but when it comes to checking it online, only a few know exactly how to dig out information. In order to track your savings here are easy steps to check the balance accumulated in Universal Account Number (UAN) by the EPFO.

All you need is a 12-digit UAN number that can be easily taken from the employer. UAN helps you to transfer PF money from one account to another as you change job.

Here are 3 easy steps to check EPF balance online:

Step 1: Go to the website www.epfindia.gov.in.  Click on Services >> For Employees >> Member Passbook

Step 2: Enter your UAN number and password. In case your UAN number is not registered, you can do it from https://unifiedportalmem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ You can activate your UAN by clicking on the link given at right-hand side to activate it. After filling in the details, UAN gets activated after 4 days.

Step 3: Once you log into the website, you can see the passbook of all previous organisations where you worked. You can check the balance lying with each organisation.

Apart from just checking the balance, you can also share you PF account as you switch jobs.
