New Delhi : Veteran stock market investor and founder of newly-launched Akasa Air, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away today after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai. He was 62-year-old.

He was having multiple health issues since past few months.

With a fortune made out of stock market, Mr Jhunjhunwala was known as the "Indian Warren Buffet"; he was known for his supernatural talent to predict profit-making investments.

Senior political leaders including PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and industry leaders paid their tributes to the 'big bull'.

"Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing away is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti," PM Modi wrote.

He had recently made a public appearance during the launch of Akasa Air for which he is a promoter.
