New Delhi : The 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated today at the AICTE Headquarters with great enthusiasm and participation from the officers and officials of AICTE. The event was honored by the esteemed presence of Honourable Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, who inaugurated the event. The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic performance of Yoga Asanas by the participants, highlighting the importance of maintaining good health and an active lifestyle.

Under the guidance of the skilled and esteemed Dr. Rabindra Mohan Acharya from S-Vyasa, the participants followed the general protocols of International Yoga Day, engaging in a 45-minute practice session designed for the occasion. The event commenced with a beginning prayer in the Namaskara Mudra, followed by a series of Yogasanas, Pranayama, and meditation. Yoga enthusiasts performed various asanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Bharadvajasana, Bhujangasana, Shalabhasana, Marichyasana, and many more.

Dr. Rabindra Mohan shed light on the significance of meditation, emphasizing that a calm body leads to a calm mind. He explained that a strong meditation pose is essential for achieving mental tranquility and enhancing focus. Yoga meditation serves as a valuable tool for individuals who struggle with concentration or find it challenging to slow down their thoughts. Dr. Rabindra Mohan also emphasized the importance of various mudras and meditation practices. Furthermore, a mind game was performed to demonstrate the need for yoga in daily life.

The event also featured an interactive Question-Answer session, where participants received valuable information and solutions to improve their physical health, alleviate pain, and enhance concentration.

Hon’ble Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam took the opportunity to launch the Yoga Campaign 2023 and the AICTE portal. He urged everyone to contribute to the portal to make it a resounding success. Prof. Sitharam expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rabindra Mohan Acharya for facilitating the event and encouraged all attendees to incorporate yoga into their daily lives for holistic well-being. He emphasized that yoga not only improves physical health but also enhances mental well-being through practices such as meditation, mindful breathing, and mental imagery. Yoga harnesses cosmic energy, promotes self-healing, eliminates negative thoughts, and boosts personal power and self-awareness. It also reduces tension and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

The International Yoga Day celebration concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism.
