New Delhi : AICTE, Ministry of Education signed MoU with EduSkills Foundation in November 2021 to provide 1 million virtual internships by 2025. Within 02 years of span, 1,82,262 students have successfully completed AICTE-EduSkills Virtual internship on multiple niche industry skills supported by 09 corporates. The uniqueness is that over 40% of these interns are female students, and 45% come from economically weaker sections.

The achievement has created a new record in both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records, recognized as the "Most Internships Completed within a 2-Year Period." As part of this celebratory occasion, two renowned companies, namely Google and Bentley Systems, have been introduced to broaden the spectrum of available internship opportunities.

These newly introduced internships include the Android Developer and Machine Learning with TensorFlow virtual internships, facilitated by Google for Developers, and the Structural Analysis with STAAD. Pro virtual internship, tailored for Civil Engineering students and supported by Bentley Education. The distinguished Chairman of AICTE, Professor T.G. Sitharam, presided over this event held in New Delhi.

Several distinguished personalities attended the program, Prof. Anil D. Sahashrabudhe, Chairman-NEFT, Buddha Shri Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinator Officer (CCO) of AICTE, Mr. B M Tiwari, Asst. Director-AICTE Mr. Mohit Bradoo, Director, Academic Program, APAC of Bentley Systems, Akanksha Rai Sharma, Technical Program Manager for India and South Asia, AWS Academy, Mr. Devi Saran Saini, Principal Client Engagement Manager, Microchip technology and Dr. Shubhajit Jagadev, CEO of EduSkills Foundation, along with other AICTE officials. Mr. B M Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks mentioning all the guests present there.

EduSkills Foundation is one of the rapidly emerging Not-for-Profit organizations, EduSkills is the Regional Partner of 12 Corporates, who are providing access to such Industry Skills to our technical students across India. EduSkills tied up with many States Govts/ Skills Departments/ Affiliating Universities to provide these skills programs to faculties & students of almost 900+ member institutions in 22 states of India.

Prof. T.G. Sitharam, the Chairman of AICTE, spoke at the event and said that he is glad with the introduction of practical civil engineering courses by Bentley. Dr. Shubhajit Jagadev, the CEO of EduSkills, delivered a presentation about the AICTE-EduSkills Internship program. He emphasized the need to elevate this initiative and expand opportunities for institutions in rural and interior areas. He particularly highlighted the innovative virtual internship prospects available for students studying civil engineering. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to various entities including the Chairman of AICTE, the Chairman of NETF, the Chief Coordination Officer of AICTE, the entire AICTE Neat cell, and supportive corporations such as AWS, Google, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Alteryx, UiPath, Microchip, Blue Prism, Bentley, Celonis, and Zscaler. He also commended the participating educational institutions for their valuable support to this endeavor.

Google for Developers & Bentley Systems will offer 50 thousand internships each respectively. The domains of internship are as follows: 

1. Bentley Systems with the below Internship Domains for Civil Students

- 2D/3D CAD Modeling & Road Design Virtual Internship

- Structural Analysis with STAAD. Pro Virtual Internship

2. Google for Developers with the below Internship Domains

- Mobile Application Development using Android Virtual Internship

- Machine Learning with TensorFlow.
