MERI E-Cell becomes first IPU team to reach NEC finals at IIT Bombay

New Delhi : MERI E-Cell team has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first team from an IPU college to reach the finals of the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) at IIT Bombay. This accomplishment reflects the team’s hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship.
Guided by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Chhabra—Associate Professor and Program Coordinator (MBA) at MERI College, as well as an external mentor appointed by IIT Bombay’s E-Cell—the students successfully participated in the six-month-long competition. Out of over 400 teams from across India, only the top 60 advanced to the finals, with MERI E-Cell proudly securing its place among them.
The team included eight core members: Kartikeya (President), Shimpi (Vice President), Akshita (Operations Head), Zorawar (PR Head), Chandan, Nipun, Sudarshan, and Saumya. Additionally, four potential future leaders—Anant Noor (Support Team Leader), Manthan, Hiten, and Krishna—contributed significantly to the team's success.
Despite facing challenges, the team showed resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Zorawar and Sudarshan participated in the Quiz Competition, while the others provided valuable support. The NEC finals also gave the team an opportunity to connect with participants, industry experts, judges, and sponsors.
Reflecting on the experience, Zorawar Singh, PR Head of MERI E-Cell, said, "The NEC finals gave us great insights and learning experiences. We aim to improve and achieve even greater success in the future."
The MERI E-Cell team's success is a proud moment for the college and an inspiration for future entrepreneurs. Their dedication and enthusiasm continue to drive them toward new achievements in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
