MERI Group VP Lalit Aggarwal, Ramakant Dwivedi meet ambassador of Tajikistan

Prof Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President, MERI Group of
Institutions and Prof Ramakant Dwivedi, Head, MERI Centre for International
Studies (CIS) met Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, ambassador of Tajikistan to India
in New Delhi, on Monday January 20, 2025.
They discussed bilateral issues of importance between the
India and Tajikistan with special reference to enhance education interactions,
engagements and collaboration between the MERI Group of Institutions, India
Central Asia Foundation and the various institutions of Tajikistan. Prof
Dwivedi underlined the need of information technology (IT) in today’s world. He
elaborated the role of MERI Group of institutions which is known for its world
class faculty & industry oriented curriculum. IT program trains professionals
in advanced Cyber security, Data Science and Analytics, Machine Learning &
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software Engineering. Cyber security is aimed
at safeguarding systems and data against evolving threats, data science and
analytics develops data scientists and analysts skilled in extracting
actionable insights from complex data, Machine learning and AI equips students
with advanced knowledge in ML and AI to build intelligent systems and
predictive models whereas software engineering is designed to develop
analytical skilled software engineers proficient in designing, building and
maintaining software systems for various applications, he added.
He further provided details about the current status of the
Joint Study between India Central Asia Foundation, New Delhi and Centre for
Strategic Research under the President Office of the Republic of Tajikistan.
ICAF has been working to promote common studies on India-Tajikistan partnership
and engagements. The publication of the Joint Study would help in disseminating
Indian and Tajik perspectives not only on bilateral interactions but also on
regional and international engagements. Students who opt for Indian studies in
Tajikistan and Tajik study in India would find the Study extremely useful as it
would provide Indian and Tajik perspectives on bilateral, regional and
international affairs. A part of the Study would also examine the policy
options available to both the countries. The focus of the joint study would be
to assess the current status of India-Tajik Relations and the potential for
enhanced engagement in economic, science & technology and cultural arena.
Prof Aggarwal stated that MERI CIS is an initiative to
advance the common interest between India and the International community. CIS
has established good contacts with prominent research/academic institutions and
distinguished scholars at the global level. The Centre strives to make
pioneering contributions in promoting the study of International Relations,
International Business and Economic Studies. It aims at advancing knowledge and
understanding of international affairs through theoretical and interdisciplinary
lenses.
Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, ambassador of Tajikistan to India
in New Delhi appreciated the initiatives taken by the MERI Group Institutions
and ICAF in enhancing cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of Education.
Both the sides have agreed to carry forward this cooperation in the
field of education.
