New Delhi : Amid reports claiming that Aamir Khan starrer upcoming movie 'Dangal' will be released in Pakistan, the distributors on Monday cleared that they have no such plans as of now.

After Pakistan theatres started screening Indian movies in cinema halls, there were many reports claiming that Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' will be releasing in Pakistan too.

However, the spokesperson of the distributors of the film has issued a statement and confirmed that “Dangal” will not be releasing in Pakistan and “any news reports to the contrary are false.”

Pakistan had banned screening of Indian movies in Pakistani theatres due to raising conflicts between the two countries on border.

'Dangal' is based on the life of ace wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and the journey of his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat.

Apart from Aamir Khan, the film also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra among others.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Dangal' is all set to hit the silver screens on December 23, 2016.
