Actress Sumita Sanyal passes away at the age of 71

New Delhi : Popular and veteran Hindi and Bengali actress Sunita Sanyal passed away. She passed away at the age of 71. 

Sunita was born on October 9, 1945.

Sunita has appeared in many Bengali and Hindi films. She made her debut with a Bengali film in the year 1960 named, 'Khokhababur Pratyabartan'. 

Sunita did around 40 Bengali films. Some of them were ‘Sagina Mahato’ in which Dilip Kumar was opposite to her in the lead role.  Another film was ‘Kuheli’. 

Sunita was married to film editor Subodh Roy. 

Sunita Sanyal was also seen in many Bollywood films. The most popular were ‘Anand’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan.  More of Sunita’s Bollywood famous films were’Guddi’, ‘Mere Apne’ and ‘Ashirwad’.

One of Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee tweeted about this sad news on Twitter. He wrote, "Saddened to hear about the demise of the veteran actress Sumita Sanyal May her soul rest in peace"
