New Delhi : Ajay Devgn's 'Raid' released on 16 March, this year, saw an average start at the initial stage of its release. But, soon, the film has witnessed a good performance at the box office over the weekend.  Reports on Boxofficeindia.com indicate that the film raked in Rs 3.25 crore on its eighth day, thus taking the total collections to Rs. 63.85 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that in a week, Raid has bagged over Rs. 63 crores and in doing so, has received the second position on the list of movies with highest opening week collections in 2018.

He took his Instagram account to share Raid’s box report card- “. "Raid has an EXCELLENT Week 1... SECOND HIGHEST Week 1 of 2018... Weekend 2 will give an idea of its lifetime biz... Fri 10.04 cr, Sat 13.86 cr, Sun 17.11 cr, Mon 6.26 cr, Tue 5.76 cr, Wed 5.36 cr, Thu 4.66 cr. Total: Rs. 63.05 cr. India biz,"

'Raid' has been clubbed by Rani Mukerji's Hichki but beside this, the period crime thriller film is receiving a great appreciation at the box office.  Director Raj Kumar Gupta looks highly impressed with the acting skills of the actors here.

He quoted "I have always believed in casting theatre actors as they bring a lot to films. I have also tried to cast actors from local places where the film is set, as it brings in flavour and authenticity. 'Raid' is set in Lucknow which has a very active theatre scene and very talented actors." 

Raid is a period crime thriller film written by Ritesh Shah and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It casts Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz and Saurabh Shukla. The movie is inspired by the real life I-T raids that were conducted by the officers of the Indian Revenue Service in the 1980s.
