Akshay Kumar in trouble, alleged of promoting dowry in 6-airbags ad

Mumbai : Akshay Kumar's 2022 is not going well. At first he struggled in giving hit movies and now he is landing into trouble for featuring in commercials. Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari recently shared an ad promoting 6-airbag in cars for better safety of the passengers. But, the ad has now become a reason to worry for the Bollywood actor.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar featured in the ad and can be seen advising a father to send his daughter in car with 6 airbags after her wedding. On this scene, several objections have been raised, alleging that it is a clear case of promoting dowry, which is a punishable offence in India.

It must be noted that the word 'dowry' has not been used in the ad. Also, nowhere it has been mentioned that the father is gifting the car to his daughter and son-in-law. It is seen that the father is crying while his daughter is leaving after marriage. And Akshay Kumar, dressed as police officer, is talking about the safety of passengers in a 6-airbag car.
