Amitabh Bachchan may quit Twitter, switch to other social media

New Delhi : Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has told Twitter authorities that he may leave their platform and switch to other social media for an alleged misbehave of reducing his follower count by over 50 thousand.

His tweet came after several prominent Twitter users across the world lost more than a million followers after federal and state agencies in the US started investigating shadowy agencies that sell fake followers. The investigation was launched after a report in New York Times.

Big B tweeted: "T 2599 - TWITTER ..!!!?? you reduced my number of followers .. !!??HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .. !! thats a joke .. time to get off from you .. thank you for the ride .. there are many ‘other’ fish in the sea - and a lot more exciting !!"

It is yet to be confirmed if Amitabh Bachchan's loss of followers is a result of the investigation. According to Twitter count, the actor has lost about 60,000 followers. While Twitter India refused comment, it referred to an earlier statement made by the parent company, “The tactics used by Devumi on our platform and others as described by today’s NYT article violate our policies and are unacceptable to us. We are working to stop them and any companies like them.”

Big B's loss is Shah Rukh Khan's gain as he has now become the industry’s most followed personality on the micro-blogging site.

On the work front, Amitabh will be seen with Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in Thugs of Hindostan. He is also working on 102 Not Out that also features Rishi Kapoor in lead role.
