Shahid Kapoor revisits his 20s for 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'

Mumbai : Shahid Kapoor will be donning his 20s avatar for his upcoming movie 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'. The film will also feature Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, shooting for the film is start from February 9 in Uttarakhand. Shahid Kapoor will be playing a role of young local boy in social comedy-drama.

Revealing Shahid’s role in the film, producer Prerna Arora told Mumbai Mirror, "Shahid plays a young local boy from Uttarakhand who is a diehard romantic. The costume designer duo has been working with artisans in villages of the North Indian state and sourcing fabrics locally to ensure authenticity. Shahid will be wearing lots of bright sweaters and jackets since the story unfolds in winter."

Shraddha Kapoor, on the other hand will be playing a role of a bubbly girl in first half who undergoes a drastic change in the second half.

Talking about her character, Prerna told, “She’s a bubbly girl and quite notorious in the first half of the film. Post interval, her character undergoes a transformation and with her behaviour her look will also change,”

Yami Gautam will be playing a character of a lawyer and join the cast in March for shooting.

'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' will be shot across Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie and Nainital.
