Amitabh Bachchan trolls Twitter as blue tick reappears on accounts with over 1 million followers
New Delhi : After Twitter reinstated the blue tick verification for accounts with over one million followers, Amitabh Bachchan, the Bollywood megastar, came up with a witty reaction. He questioned why he bothered paying for the subscription when he had 48.4 million followers on the social media platform.
Amitabh tweeted late Sunday, "Are maare gae Gulfam, biraj me maare gae Gulfam. Ae Twitter mausi, chahchi, beheni, tai, bua... jhauaan bhar ke ta naam hain tumhaar. Paise bharwa liye hamara neel kamal khaatir. Ab kahat ho jekar 1 m follower unkar neel kamal free ma. Humar to 48.4 m hain, ab? Khel khatam, paisa hajam?"
The previous week saw Twitter remove blue tick verification badges from all verified accounts that were not subscribed to Twitter Blue and did not pay a subscription fee. The badges were only retained for those accounts that paid the fees and subscribed to Twitter Blue.
Amitabh Bachchan was among the first ones who paid for the subscription and got his blue tick restored. Subsequently, upon its restoration, he expressed gratitude towards Twitter and went as far as writing a song for Elon Musk titled "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Musk Musk."
The Bollywood megastar is known for interacting with people on social media and share his witty feelings. But this time, it looks like he has spent money on a thing which many would enjoy for free.
