Choreographer Remo D'Souza's brother-in-law found dead, suicide suspected

Mumbai : Choreographer-filmmaker Remo D'Souza's brother-in-law Jason Watkins has been found dead at his residence in Millat Nagar in Mumbai on Thursday, a police official said.

According to the official, Watkins was found hanging in his room by his parents after they returned home. It is suspected that he has committed suicide.

The 42-year-old was suffering from health issues and it is believed that he took the extreme step to end his suffering. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

According to the initial probe, Watkins was alone in his flat at the time of the incident. His parents had gone out to buy medicines and when they returned they found him hanging from the ceiling, the official said.

His parents alerted police and rushed to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead before admission.

On the basis of primary information, the Oshiwara police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the case as nothing suspicious was found, the police official added.
