'Padmavati' is Ranveer Singh's biggest acting challenge

New Delhi : Ranveer Singh is famous for his energy and choice of characters in the Bollywood movies, the actor is now gearing up for his role in the upcoming movie Padmavati, which he claims to be as the toughest in the career so far.

The period drama, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will feature Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who fell in love with queen Padmavati.

Shahid Kapoor will also be playing an important role in this movie. He will be seen as Raja Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler and husband of Padmavati (enacted by Deepika Padukone).

"It's very difficult. It's physically, emotionally, mentally very draining. It's my biggest challenge yet as an actor. I prepared very hard for it, almost a month. We have started shooting and Bhansali is pretty happy with the way things have shaped up," Ranveer told PTI in an interview.

Ranveer Singh was recently seen in Befikre and his last period drama was Bajirao Mastani, for which he had gone under a rigorous training.

Padmavati is scheduled to release in November 2017.
