Pakistan bans Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan-starrer 'Raees'

New Delhi : Pakistan Censor Board has banned screening of Indian blockbuster movie 'Raees' that stars King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the lead roles.

'Raees' has been rejected with a reason that Muslims are depicted in a negative shade. 

“Yes, the censor certificate has not been issued to the film Raees for having inappropriate content,” said Mubashir Husain.

A national newspaper had also claimed that the film’s “content undermines Islam … portraying Muslims as criminals, wanted persons and terrorists”.

The news comes as a huge disappointment for all the Shah Rukh Khan fans in Pakistan as the country had recently lifted ban from the screening of Indian movies.
