Ranbir Kapoor wasn't sure about doing 'Sanju': Read why

New Delhi : Ranbir Kapoor is getting all the praise for nailing his act as Sanjay Dutt in upcoming biopic ' Sanju'. But, he was skeptical about doing the film at the earlier stage.

Director Rajkumar Hirani always felt that Ranbir Kapoor is the perfect choice for the character; but when he approached him, the young actor's first response was, "I hope this is not about the Dutt biopic."

In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor explained how he was not sure about doing the film 'Sanju', but all his fears vanished after he read the script.

Mom Neetu Kapoor was quite impressed with Sanju and asked Ranbir to go ahead with it. She was not convinced by the film's climax, and discussed it with Hirani, who changed it later.

This is for the first time Ranbir Kapoor is working with Rajkumar Hirani. Prior to this he had done a cameo for his movie 'PK'.

'Sanju' which also stars Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala and Dia Mirza has been scheduled to release on June 29 this year.
