Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's next movie: Taran Adarsh
Mumbai : Putting rumours to rest on who will play Kapil Dev's character in Kabir Khan's next sports based movie, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said it will be Ranveer Singh who will turn into the legendary cricketer for the film.
He tweeted: “#BreakingNews: Ranveer Singh will turn cricketer #KapilDev in Kabir Khan's sports-based film... #1983 #WorldCup."
Earlier, there were rumours that Arjun Kapoor has been approached and even finalised for the role, but now, the confirmation has come over Ranveer Singh.
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Kabir Khan said, “I had no idea then that from that day on cricket in India would change forever. As a filmmaker, the journey to that win, filled with the raw energy and sheer passion of a young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on. It’s great to have Ranveer come on board as Kapil Dev, as honestly I could see no one else in the role since I started working on the script.”
Presently, Ranveer Singh is busy doing Padmavati with Deepika Padukone and Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’.
