'Captain Marvel' collects Rs 56.25 crore in its first week; yet to bag more

New Delhi : Captain Marvel' starring Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson in the lead roles is showing its excellent performance in the first week of its release. Projected under the banner of Marvel Cinematic Universe, the film is the first female-led superhero film which received positive reviews from critics. Hollywood's 'Captain Marvel' was released on March 08 and clashed with Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Badla'. 

A latest report released by the Boxofficeindia.com states that the film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 3.15 crore on its seventh day at the box office. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 56.25 crore in its first week at the box office.

The lead role in Captain Marvel was first introduced in the post-credit scene of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. She will also feature in 'Avengers: Endgame', set for a release on April 26, helping the superheroes battle the mighty villain Thanos.

Coming to the film, it is packed with action, humor, and visual thrills. The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and produced by Marvel Studios. Besides the lead actors, it also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, and Jude Law
