Oscars 2017: Chelsea Handler not interested in being a host

Los Angeles : Actress-comedienne Chelsea Handler says she has no intentions of hosting the Academy Awards.

Handler was earlier offered to host the Film Independent Spirits Awards. She first got ready to host the show, but later changed her mind.

Asked whether she will ever host Oscars, Handler told variety.com: "God no. Why would I do that? I was going to host the Independent Spirit Awards.

"Then I was like, ‘Why am I doing this? I don't want to.' I said, ‘Yes.' And then I said, ‘You know what, I'm sorry -- I can't.' I'd maybe host the Golden Globes. It would be fun to do it with another person. Then you could have a good time."

Jimmy Kimmel will host the 89th Academy Awards, which will take place on Sunday night here.
