In conversation with DJ SANGAM: Nagpur’s Rising Music Scene, New Stardom & much more
New Delhi : DJ Sangam is a rising star in Nagpur's music scene, and he has been making waves every weekend at Dabo and at other places he performs. He started his journey as a DJ a few years back, and today he has become one of the most sought-after DJs in the city. His love for Bollywood music and his unique style of mixing has got him a massive fan following in the city.
In a recent conversation, DJ Sangam also known as Sangam Shrivas shared his experiences about his journey in the music industry, his love for Bollywood music, and how he has made a mark for himself in the industry. He talked about the challenges he faced in his initial days as a DJ and how he overcame them with passion and dedication.
You've also mentioned your love for Bollywood music. Can you tell me more about it?
"I always loved Bollywood music and wanted to create my remixes that would make people dance," said DJ Sangam. "Initially, it was tough to get gigs, but I never gave up. I kept working on my skills, and soon I started getting noticed. Today, I am happy that I have been able to create my own identity in the music industry."
Can you talk about some of your favourite Bollywood songs or artists?
“ Oh, there are so many! I'm a big fan of (write some songs which he plays most)"
One of the highlights of DJ Sangam's career has been his newly produced song 'X', which has become an instant hit among his fans.
Your new song "Get Started" has been a huge hit with your fans. Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind it?
“I'm always experimenting with different sounds and styles in my music, and "Get Started" was born out of that experimentation. I wanted to create something catchy and danceable but also had a unique edge to it. The inspiration for the song came from my love for electronic dance music and my desire to fuse it with some elements of Bollywood music.I have put it up on all music platforms like spotify, etc”
You've been performing in Nagpur for quite some time now. How would you describe the city's music scene?
“Nagpur has a really vibrant and diverse music scene. There are a lot of talented musicians and DJs here who are always pushing the boundaries of what's possible. I think what makes Nagpur's music scene unique is the way that different genres and styles blend together to create something truly original.”
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs or musicians who are just starting out?
“The most important thing is to stay true to yourself and your style. Don't try to copy someone else's sound or try to fit into a particular mould. Also, never stop learning and experimenting. The music industry is constantly changing, so it's important to stay up-to-date on new technologies, trends, and techniques. And finally, always stay humble and never forget your fans – they are the reason we do what we do.”
With his unique blend of Bollywood and EDM and his unwavering passion for music, DJ Sangam is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
