New Delhi : The short-video sharing platform has lost it's biggest asset in India. The Government of India banned 59 Chinese apps recently including the very popular short-video sharing platform TikTok. This has left a large number of people sad as there are not enough good quality platforms like TikTok. But this has also led to the popularity of similar apps like Mitron, Roposo, Chingari and other such apps. We're all using these apps to fill in the void that TikTok has left in our lives. Millions of TikTok users and creators have been left in shock after this move.

In the midst of all the heartbreak and chaos, other companies are taking the opportunity to come up with apps to fill this void and gain popularity. People are looking for a good alternative for TikTok and while TikTok continues to work with the Indian Government in hopes of making a comeback, chances are that the other social media platforms might replace them before that happens. Instagram Reels and Facebook Lasso are two such apps which may make the move on the Indian market now. But in the meanwhile, we have another competitor which is launching very soon.

The Indian streaming app Zee5 is planning on launching it's TikTok rival this month. They're adding a new feature to their streaming app Zee5. This will be a TikTok clone and will be called HiPi. The app aims as providing a creative platform to all the talented creators across the country and has plans to collaborate with 300 creators already. While Zee5 is a subscription-based application, HiPi will be free of cost feature and will have no advertisements. Zee5 has claimed that the app is undergoing beta testing and will soon be launched in the country. In a press release, Zee5 said, “The name HiPi comes from the vision of a youthful and carefree planet where everyone can express themselves with freedom and confidence,”. Zee5 also shared the screenshots of HiPi. But this feature will first be available for android users before it becomes available for iOS users. We have hopes that this app will turn out to be a user-friendly app.
