Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 11, Episode 1: Amitabh Bachchan starts with a bang

Mumbai : Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 11 started on Monday (August 19); the show is once again being hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Based on the British show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? KBC, as it is popularly known, has been hosted by Bachchan for all but one of its 11 seasons - the sole exception was season three, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.

The new season started with the following fastest fingers first question:

Anil, from Gujarat won the round and became the first contestant of the season to sit on the hot seat. However, Anil Rameshbhai Jivnani could only manage a prize money of Rs 10,000.

For those who don't know, here's quick information about the rules and the lifelines. The contestant will get four lifelines - 50:50, Audience Poll, Ask The Expert and Flip The Question. They will win 1 crore after answering 15 questions correctly. The final question comes with a prize money of 7 crore. The contestants will get 45 seconds to answer each question allotted in Level 1 and a minute each for questions in the second round.

Taking the game ahead, Big B asked the contestants another Fastest Finger First question. Chitrarekha Rathore, a Homeopathy doctor from Chhattisgarh won the round.

She had won Rs 40,000 by answering seven questions correctly and before Big B could have gone for the 8th question the time buzzer went off, resulting in her continuation in the second episode of the season.
