65% COVID 19 infection asymptomatic in Faridabad

Faridabad : Around 65% cases reported in Faridabad were asymptomatic, said the health department officials, raising fear of more cases in the city.

The health officials managed to find these new cases after the better testing capacity of the district.

Earlier, 200 samples were being tested every day and now the health officials are testing around 500 samples every day.

In Faridabad, one government testing lab has been setup at the ESIC Medical College. Assistant professor Dr Pooja Goel of the institute said, “We have nearly 65% of Covid-19 patients who are asymptomatic The district health department has now improved contact tracing too.

A health department official said that 80 per cent of the cases in Faridabad were of the people who were in contact with the person with coronavirus.

Nearly 50 per cent of the cases have been reported in last 11 days.

On Thursday, five more people had tested positive for coronavirus in Faridabad. With them, the total tally of confirmed cases stand at 181 in the district.
