New Delhi : People who own vehicles older than BS III in petrol engine and BS IV in diesel engine will have to keep their cars off the road for some more time as Delhi government has decided to keep the ban on such vehicles as the AQI in Delhi remained under 'very poor' category.

Addressing a press conference on Monday after a review meeting over the ban, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai noted that the air condition in Delhi has improved as compared to a couple of days back. This is because of restrictions and less farm fire incidents in the neighbouring states.

Considering the improvement, some relaxations have been announced in the restrictions imposed by CAQM on November 3, 2022. "Primary schools can now open for physical classes from November 9 onwards with full staff in attendance," he mentioned during the press conference.

Meanwhile, it has been noted that the non BS VI diesel cars and non BS IV petrol cars will remain banned on the roads of Delhi till further notice.

NOIDA schools to reopen from Wednesday

Schools from Class 1 to 8 in Gautam Buddh Nagar will reopen from Wednesday. This comes after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) removed stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) following slight improvement in air quality index (AQI).

Earlier when the AQI in the city crossed the 400 mark, the rules of GRAP 4 were implemented and online class was started by closing the schools.
