6th 'Bharatatma Ashok Singhal Ved Awards to be held on 15th , Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce & Industry to be the Chief Guest

New Delhi : Commemorated in the loving memory of late Shri Ashokji Singhal, Former International President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Singhal Foundation is going to host the 6th edition of 'Bharatatma Ashok Singhal Vedic Puruskar' on Monday, 15th October. The award event will be held at Chinmaya Mission, 89- Lodhi Estate, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Bharatatma Veda Puraskar was instituted in 2017. The first series of awards were presented in 2017. 

Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister, Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India will be the Chief Guest in the holy presence of Parampujya Swami Govinddev Giriji and other dignitaries from the field of Vedas.

The primary objective of this National Veda Award is to recognize excellence in the Vedic field and relevant genre. It is the most prestigious Ved award in the Vedic field, given yearly in 4 categories of Uttam Veda Vidyarthi, Adarsh ​​Vedadhyapak, Uttam Veda Vidyalaya and Vedarpit Jeevan Puraskar in which three, five, seven and five lakh rupees are provided, respectively.

"It is due to Late Shri Ashokji Singhal's deep interest in the Vedic scriptures that has encouraged our Foundation, and to start this award ceremony. This is the 6th year of Bharatatma Ashok Singhal Ved Awards," said Sanjaya Singhal, co-trustee of the foundation.

Shri Salil Singhalji, Trustee of Singhal Foundation, said "Vedas are the ancient tales and texts in the world and these texts guide solution to pressing problems of humankind, as well as pave the way for the welfare of the society."

"Apart from being the leading light of Hindutva and a thought leader, respected Ashokji Singhal was also a great proponent of Vedas. He always loved to read and impart the knowledge of Vedas as a result of which he initiated opening of several schools/institutes for the learning of the Vedic scriptures," said Salil Singhal, Trustee, Singhal Foundation.
