J&K: 3 killed in terrorist attack in Akhnoor, high alert sounded
Los Angeles : Jammu Kashmir once again came under terrorist invasion on Monday after heavily-armed gunmen attacked a General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) camp in Akhnoor district killing three civilians.
The attack took place around 7 am when gun shots were targeted at Army personals. Security has now cordoned the area and are looking for suspects.
It is believed that the 3 terrorists have sneaked into the Indian territory from across the LoC.
Currently, the firing has stopped and terrorists have gone into hiding taking advantage of darkness and dense wild growth in the surrounding areas.
GREF and the Border Roads Engineering Service form the parent cadre of the Border Roads Organisation, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of road networks in India's border areas.
The attack on GREF camp 40 days after terrorists attacked an army camp at Nagrota on November 30 last year.
