All will be forgotten, if he returns to Congress: Chidambaram to Pilot

New Delhi : In a surprise move, rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot reached to veteran leader P Chidambaram, who reportedly told him that if he returns to the party all his rebellion actions will be forgotten.

Interestingly, this phone call has been reported at a time when Sachin Pilot and his 18 MLAs moved to the Rajasthan High Court against disqualification notices served to them by the Rajasthan Assembly Speaker.

The call to former Union Minister was in regards to the legal advice he wanted to take against the notices.

Confirming to various news channels that talks between them had indeed taken place, Chidambaram said, “We spoke during the day. I just reiterated that the leadership had publicly invited him to meet with it and all issues can be discussed. I advised him to seize the opportunity”.

It must be noted that from the first day of dispute, Congress has maintained that their doors are always open for Sachin Pilot and the issued of a family must be discussed within the family.

Besides Chidambaram, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, too, has spoken to Pilot multiple times. Rahul Gandhi, however, is yet to reach out directly to Pilot, but is said to be keen on retaining him after losing Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Madhya Pradesh to the BJP in March.
