Baba Siddique shot dead; shooters claim to be from Bishnoi gang

Mumbai : Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique was shot dead on Saturday by unknown group of people; the police have arrested two suspect who have reportedly claimed that they belong to Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Meanwhile, the police are yet to verify the claim as the gang has not taken responsibility of the attack ahead of Maharashtra state elections.
Baba Siddique, a famous politician from the Ajit Pawar faction of National Congress party and former three times MLA from Bandra East, was shot dead at Bandra last night.
According to media reports, six bullets were fired at Mr Siddique near his son's office, four of them have reportedly struck him in the chest. From the initial instances, it is looking like a contract killing and the police has formed four special teams to probe it.
The shooting that coincides with the Dussehra celebration across the nation was carried out by three men. Two of them have been reportedly arrested, while the third one remains on the run. More people are suspected to be connected to it as police suspect that someone was also providing information about Mr Siddique’s location.
The involvement of Bishnoi gang is suspected as Mr Siddique was close to Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has received several threats from the gang. However, Mr. Siddique had not reported any threat from the gang.
The clear picture in this case will come after the probe ends.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress like Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty were seen heading towards the hospital to meet the family of Mr Siddique after this incident.
